Outdoor daylight typically has more blue light in it than indoor light, yet outdoor light appears to be protective. So yes, "unclear" is accurate.

The "in contrast" is to chickens and guinea pigs, where the opposite occurs. What relevance this has to humans is unclear.

While I agree with most of this, I wouldn't call ball mice "cosy". Ball mice were unreliable and cleaning the rollers was an annoying chore. Optical was a big upgrade, especially as it went mainstream with some exceptionally

I don't think anybody makes achromatic glasses lenses because they would be too thick and heavy. AFAIK, every optician sells PADC (e.g. CR-39) lenses.

Very few screens are bright enough to compete with the normal brightness of outdoor sunlight. There's no evidence that close focus or looking at bright screens causes eyesight problems. Bright light actually seems to protect against my

LCDs imperfectly block the backlight to make obviously impure black for #000000. Every OLED I've seen has slight light emission for #000000 (leakage current?) too. And very few monitors are used in a perfectly dark environment, so ther

I blame what I'll call the Art Teacher's Fallacy: "Pure black does not exist in nature, therefore you must never use pure black." This is equivocating on the meaning of "pure black"; your paints or computer scr

There are two different British curry traditions. The oldest is Anglo-Indian cuisine, which did originate with the British Raj. This is the one that inspired Japanese curry, because it was served on British Navy ships and the Imperial Japan

They also talk about forging. Forging can produce higher quality parts because metal has a grain structure. Just like wood, it's easier to break between grains than across the grain. Forging is deforming the metal without melting it. I

Comparing latency with maximum tap rate is the same kind of fallacy as comparing it with reaction time.

>wait for the signal to switch from off to on for say 10ms before you act on the transition That is the worst way to debounce, because it adds 10ms latency for no good reason. The better way is to act immediately but ignore further input

Your actions are pipelined. The waiting happens in parallel with doing the next action. The 250ms delay causes a timeout exception and flushes the pipeline.

The F1166 standard permits up to 250ms latency for touch screen response. That is ridiculously high. It practically guarantees people will think it's not working and tap again, undoing any toggle function they might have activated. The
