when in flow - does markup really matter then or is it mainly about letters and whitespace in sequence like text/plain? Not sure but guess for me the latter, what about you?

are 3rd parties legit? IMO not. I block them by default and whitelist in case.

It doesn't habe to be "one browser to view them all" - take a simple, robust one for random web and a bloated one for trusted applications.

I currently think about a tool that does a liiiiiitle bit of what a static site generator does – but based on already valid html input. https://mensuel.framapad.org/p/r.0c8792b90b31b50a91455713a36... And just help a li

possible, yes. I'd prefer without the SQLite dependency, however. But not parsing SQL is a pro, indeed.

for feedback forms on otherwise static websites I use my https://codeberg.org/mro/form2xml to unpack raw form dumps into better digestable xml. So the processing can happen where the static site generator runs.

for simple things, like e.g. a resume with only a few pages you don't need any tool at all. Just write html + a bit of css (no 3rd-party complexity!) and print it (to pdf). Done (assuming you won't apply as a print designer)

Not to mention animations. Adding a second's hand to https://mro.name/o/testbild.svg makes 25% CPU load on modern hardware. Ridiculous. But even more so, that it's often enough done anyway.

I recently ported the wonderful geohash computation approach of https://mmcloughlin.com/posts/geohash-assembly into an OCaml CGI conversion webservice. There are so many subtle gems in that article, a pleasure to read.

I find CGIs very interesting when scaling towards n=1 – they just do a bit of parsing and add no dependencies to your project. And with very few code (and still no dependencies) you get tiny, useful tools (plug alarm!) like https:/&#x

Even for private stuff you're under dictation of a 3rd party that decides what you're allowed to say to whom and who eavesdrops. US was once famous how they valued free speech. Tempi passati.

I wonder if 3rd parties could DOS the telephone (VoIP) this way? Do you take precautions or just accept the theoretically lower reliability of the phone – which isn't anything reliable anymore anyway, thanks to VoIP?

How much small print do you accept? How legally reliable do you want it? How much effort do you want to put in? Without smallprint it's either self-host on a raspi at home + some dyndns (cost near 0, larger initial effort) or EUR 2 per
