Well for starters I believe it still relies on Kernel 2.6, I think they forked the kernel then never kept it up to date, I could be wrong about this but it certainly was the case up until recently at least. Looking at OpenVZ's website

Interesting, my 2c: You shouldn't be using OpenVZ in 2016 regardless, I know lots of budget web hosting providers still provide it as an option but really IMO they should have moved on around 2-3 years ago.

Quite a shame really, although my main phone is an iPhone I did like how their spin of Android made it a bit easier to de-google the OS. Sorry to anyone out of a job due to this.

As a side note: GitHub.com is hosted on Azure and that says a lot, at risk of sounding like a zealot - I have quite a bit experience with apps including office365 hosted on Azure and that platform has more than its share of problems interna

Sorry if I've missed it somewhere but I'm looking for some independent, transparent reports on its security implementation. I was wondering if anyone could help me with finding this - or if perhaps they haven't been done I gu

That's a rather rude, unconstructive way of asking for someone to do something for free for you. How about logging a bug, or if you have - linking to it here to get some additional traction?

I can confirm this, self-hosted is incredibly fast - you'll wonder how you ever used gitlab.com or github.com for that matter. It's as fast as it is for me to push to a locally running git server to be honest.

I will remind people again that the issue lays within upstream libraries such as libxml and have the potential to affect not just Apple (although everyone loves to target a single brand), but other operating systems and software, remember t

How is it taking huge cloud providers so long to catch up with things we do self hosted every day? It obviously has to be well engineered, yet it's relatively simple. Woefully poor performance too.
