Alongside others, I've been using a combination of Vultr and Ramnode and I've found both fantastic, especially Vultr.

On the non technical side - A LOT of multiple people's time inside our small NFP org inspecting logs, rolling passwords, keys etc, expiring sessions and communicating with clients.

Sorry I should have qualified it but didn't want to be rude in the car stuck to my phone. By doing great I mean people seem to be taking more Ubers than ever before, riders as far as I have spoken to all rave about the service (Melbour

Totally agree with all your points especially around the software being open source. I got round to trying it out at home last night and at work today, it wouldn't add my music and just sat there with a scrolling pinwheel on both machi

That's still terrible performance, your average MacBook Pro these days will provide between 100,000 and 300,000 IOP/s on 4k random reads and the average VM we deploy from our storage servers (commodity SSD based linux clusters tha

I /really/ like Swinsain which looks quite similar, the only thing it's missing is Apple Music integration but I can't imagine any third party player will integrate with Apple Music properly. My music library is 1.3TB wh

Yes we've used full text search for quite some time for one of our products, it's great, we really haven't had any issues performance or otherwise with it. For one of our other products we index data from PostgreSQL / Po

Hackers hack computers and networks, Crackers crack software. There is a clear difference between those two words.

I really wish people would stop using the term serverless, it's not useful and it's highly misleading.

I wish you could use these with macOS's CoreStorage to unlock FileVault 2's full disk encryption in combination with a password. I wonder if it'll be possible at any point...

Gosh I remember how many IO errors occurred on those early and / or cheap CD-Rs like 'Transonic', 'TDK', 'Maxell' and all those other dreadful light green or light blue coloured Cyanine ink based coasters.

On the subject of discs, I just realised I can't actually remember the last time I used CD / rotational optical media of some kind, I honestly can't! If I had to guess what the reason for it might have been I'd probably

I've been using PFSense both at various workplaces and at home for many years now, it's seriously fantastic. Feature rich, rock solid and good 3rd party packages.

It was common as anything in Christchurch, most of my friends had between 40 and 500Mbit at home either on fibre (up to 1Gbit to the home at the time back in 2011), VDSL (I think up to 200Mbit if you're close to the exchange back then)
