and I got down voted :( Honestly like little daggers and makes me really never want to comment on HN. Surely the idea of the world putting some effort into producing a material that can help stop this happening isn't completely stupid.

Replying to this and jen729's comment, which I can't reply to for some reason. I'm not entirely sure why this got downvoted (bit of a personal gripe with YC (anonymous down voting/spamming without a direct comment).. buu

I wouldn't say 'not the blame' Bose directly, I take your blog post as two points: - What happened: exactly what you said, you can replace this as 'item X with a lithium-ion battery'. This is an event that could hap

One comment about the "okay, DNS records actually do “propagate”." I assume he's talking about DNS notifications? If so, I wouldn't say they're only for big providers. It's useful for anyone who runs more than

Indeed, not too bad and this is what I did, but certainly not immediately natural, as you have to rely on the browser's tab history (i.e. you closed this tab, redirect user to previous tab), so wouldn't work if I starting viewing

This is awesome!! :) One tiny thing (though everyone's tiny suggestions sure add up :D ) (aside from the alt-h not working in firefox)... It would be awesome if hitting space or something on a selected post would open it in a iframe (o

> I disagree. Fair enough > Gatekeeping people because they never learned about or worked with the VLANs found in more expensive hardware is stupid. I'm not sure I agree with VLANs being limited to more expensive hardware. Like i

The only way I could see is if there is a malicious device on the WAN side (as in, actually on the same network as the WAN interface) that is configured on the same subnet as the internal network and it communicates with the management inte

I could see that, but when first learning about firewalls and such, start in an isolated environment.. test with VMs, old machines, whatever. Putting machines on the internet misconfigured can both put you at risk, but can also mean another

I cannot over-exaggerate how good the GS308T is for this... such good features for a low-cost, low-power, small 8-port device :) :) :)
