I don't understand this decision. Dropbox in February (2014) was finally allowed use back in China, so my understanding is they're going hard for that market of over a billion people. I wouldn't be surprised if China blocked

Why do I care that a mobile developer knows my device model and hardware specs? I'd prefer you to know for bug testing and performance metrics.

Their communication is not impressive. I work with AWS daily and I've been aware of issues LONG before they publicly announce anything on their status pages.

Wow. I'm "Senior Level" and I absolutely love speaking with people who are interested in entering my field. I even teach classes and hold relevant meetups. I expected the comments about her reply to be exaggerated, but they a

I understand your disinterest in signing up for a service to sign up for ANOTHER service but keep this in mind- I'm sure very few of us on HN or in the entrepreneur community don't have accounts on at least one of the common OAuth

You're bringing up spelling errors and things that have absolutely nothing to do with the argument that the article author presented. They don't mention improper spelling at all. They don't mention education or lack thereof.

My point was that his attempt to not generalize, whilst generalizing (the poor? the uneducated?) was a bit offensive. I don't really care, just figured I'd point out that there are also educated engineers/architects out there

I'm at the end (29) of your group and most of us (my personal peers) very rarely use punctuation in informal conversations (AIM, irc, hipchat). Assuming it's a literacy issue is a bit offensive. My formal email/hackernews

You're using a very, very basic definition of cloud- one that really shouldn't exist anymore. You're talking about moving a physical service into a hosted service; IAAS/SAAS. We're talking about actually developing

Clothing seems far less about pimping your brand and more about wearing good looking, well-fit items nowadays. It's great. When I was in high school around 2000 I was a skinny kid. I couldn't find ANYTHING that fit well except for

I've never heard of this. Wikipedia had this about it, which is pretty hilarious; Some teenagers turned the sound into a mobile phone ringtone, which could not be heard by teachers if the phone rang during a class.[38] Mobile phone spe

It's cheap. I bought one for my bedroom tv which I only use when falling asleep. I already have a Roku for the living room. Until the SDK comes out their features cannot be compared.

I don't work in startups to get rich. I work in startups because when I have an idea it's a part of my personality and mindset that I have to attempt to bring it to fruition. Some ideas wind up terrible, some great. Some fail, som

Thanks for the breakdown. I've looked at loaning on Prosper and Lending Club. They both focus on our credit reporting system which in my opinion is an absolutely miserable metric of reliability. I don't like the thought of not bei

Yeah, people are different. Assuming everyone gets email on their phone vs text messaging which is pretty much ubiquitous is completely my point. I can cement my point even further. You don't get emails, your family does, but you all g
