Maybe it's a coding style that suits you then. That's cool. I just caution against putting it in such simple terms. I hate it when I read code by somebody who latched on to the latest trend and then ruthlessly bent their style to match the

Well, the hippocampus is related to long term memory and not motor control, as I understand it. So it's doubtful. I'm having a hard time finding studies that adequately control for fitness level though. Most tend to focus on acute exercise.

What if you did? Would it be a better framework? Would anybody care at all? I doubt it. This a code style and if you like it, then maybe you use the parts you want. But "micro branching" is still branching and it makes little difference how

Well, as a brief mention said in the article, any exercise benefit to the brain used to be thought of mainly as an increased blood flow and oxygen uptake. But more recent research is focused on the hippocampus and neurogenesis, actually gro

Sorry, I have to keep my online activities and work separate. :-) But I didn't mean to infer my company doesn't use credit scores... They use them plenty. >The above implies that a company that does not use credit scores when making mor

The senior credit officer at my company will give you a long rant about the inaccuracy of credit scores if you ask about it. They use it as informational only (really high or really low might tell you something worth investigating). Each bu

Well, I would never consider jsp for that. But for certain view-layer duties, it works, it's simple and it doesn't require fancy tricks.

Use netbeans! I haven't had to manually hack a web.xml or build.xml in years. I do lots of Java development without touching XML. Managing that stuff should be left the IDE, that's the sort of thing that XML was originally meant for, at l

Thanks! But it's an old post. :-) I should probably clean it up, too. Some of the formatting got butchered in a server move.

MMmmm.... Yes and no. I remember the first time I heard of google, that probably wouldn't have been a highly valued domain at the time. What really matters is links. You can put whatever you want in a link, since most people don't look at t

I did: http://www.publicstatic.net/2009/01/sure-change-jobs/ The biggest adjustment for me was money. I'd gotten so used to buying whatever I wanted (not large things) that I had some money trouble early on. But I'm back to programming no

No doubt it's expensive, but it has been several years. A natural hardware refresh should have helped. Check out these guys getting it right: http://blog.linode.com/2010/06/16/linode-turns-7-big-ram-inc...

Getting a VPS is your best bet. Oddly, even though RAM is cheap these days, they are still stingy with it. For learning, I'd start with the 256 or lowest RAM setup and plan to upgrade later if you get traffic. Some of the most popular VPS h

That's more or less it, yeah. But I've done some simplification for the blog post. A quick web browser control will get you started but obviously there's more stuff to fix... I'm hoping to create a unified method for everybody stuck on IE6.
