When I heard embedded postgres and sync, I immediately thought of pg's logical replication. ElectricSQL looks cool, but any chance of pg's native logical replication working with this?

I would rather congressional representatives be paid more and have much stricter rules (with sufficient oversight and penalties), than what we have now. Also the "revolving door" where congress members become lobbyists when they l

I don't like being this guy, but I think Deepseek 3.2 stole all the thunder yesterday. Notice that these comparisons are to Deepseek 3.1. Deepseek 3.2 is a big step up over 3.1, if benchmarks are to be believed. Just unfortunate timing

I ran into a similar issue with Hetzner. I had an outstanding bill that I forgot about (going to an email inbox I don't check often). They closed my account, and I haven't been able to pay the bill. I've tried contacting supp

There are many good comments here about why the "Ruby is not a serious programming language" article is trash, and it is. What bothers me is that this article is on wired.com. I would expect more from Wired, and unfortunately, the

I would expect one of the motivations for making these LLM model weights open is to undermine the valuation of other players in the industry. Open models like this must diminish the value prop of the frontier focused companies if other comp

The whole time while reading over this, I was thinking how a small orchestrator local model might help with somewhat known workflows. Programmatic orchestration is ideal, but can be impractical for all cases. In the interest of reducing con

Let me go find my collection of floppy disks, then I'll need a 32 pin connection adapter for the drive. I remember U7 was my favorite game for a long time. I received U7 Serpent Isle as a gift, but at least one of 15 of the 3.5" d

Hit the Gemini 3 quota on the second prompt in antigravity even though I'm a pro user. I highly doubt I hit a context window based on my prompt. Hopefully, it is just first day of near general availability jitters.

It is refreshing to see a date picker that the user knows how to enter date with their keyboard. Defaulting to custom UI for date/time pickers is so bizarre. My favorite (/s) is when you're using an android and you get the we

A lot of money and years of marketing the cloud as the responsible business decision led us here. Now that the cloud providers have vendor lock-in, few will leave, and customers will continue to wildly overpay for cloud services.

One thing that frustrates me with estimating performance on AWS is that I have to dramatically estimate down from the performance of my dev laptop (M2 MBP). I've noticed performance tradeoffs around 15x slower when deployed to AWS. I r

One training source for LLMs is opensource repos. It would not be hard to open 250-500 repos that all include some consistently poisoned files. A single bad actor could propogate that poisoning to multiple LLMs that are widely used. I would
