I hate iTunes and Quicktime with a passion and don't consider them to be user friendly, but then again I'm a Windows user, so maybe it's my fault.

But will it have a fan? :) Kidding aside, this is good news. Competition is good for mobile.

Sure, but when you can get the same revenue for less money AND have your own browser which you can control AND are independent from a third party, it would be even better.

Would be interesting to see how much Google spends on Chrome development each year. I suppose it is much less than the estimated 100 million they pay Mozilla, so this alone would have been reason enough to create their own browser.

Knuth comes across as living in a bit of denial here... Sure the frequency speedups were much nicer, but faced with hardware limits that make this impossible, he should point out that the future lies in finding algorithms best suited to mul

I think only relatively small teams can be 10x teams. With big teams, people can easily underperform and not get noticed, while the contributions of the true team players are often overlooked. This leads to declining morale. With small team

You gotta love IT. On Windows there was perfect integration between apps after Microsoft added linking and embedding using COM/OLE. 2D/3D hardware acceleration was standard. Linux as a competing OS implemented most of this also. Then came t

It's a substantial win for sure. Of course it is unlikely that Motorola will try to enforce the ban, but it gives them an excellent bargaining position.

Syncing music (in fact, any file) has to be the easiest thing on Android: 1) plug in via USB 2) copy files 3) unplug I do not want to install any software to do syncs, so this is the way I want it to be. What value could syncing software ad

The ability to plug in an Android device into any computer with an USB port and be able to access all data and put new things on it instantly without any sync software overhead is a killer feature for me. There are others, like better hardw

Apple makes compromises, too. On the original iPad scrolling can be really laggy (probably only after installing a couple of apps, so you won't notice it in the store). Meanwhile, the current generation of dual core Android phones have hard

Using the custom ROM is more a matter of taste and not functionality. I don't like the design of Touchviz personally, but there are many people who do and use it.

Mostly because of Apple's (or let's say Steve Jobs') attitude of "Android is crap, they stole everything from us, they are scum and need to be exterminated". Many Apple "fans" also have the same attitude. So it is great to see a man who fou
