Rollbar. We used to use Airbrake but Rollbar has been much better for us. It is still pretty new but they are constantly adding features.

Exactly. You should have seen the Leopard nightlies. The top bar translucency was off for a while and it was basically non-functional. The dock would crash regularly, etc.

It depends on the job. While I don't doubt that is true for a simple web development task, most programmers who live in states with poor economies and no tech jobs probably have not written service-oriented distributed systems on AWS that h

Yeah it is very difficult to find Rails developers who are on the market. Wages for Rails developers have certainly been going up in the Bay Area, even including the tons of junior hires, because no one can find senior talent. Maybe this is

Coding time was actually not precious here. They gave about a day to do the qualification round but only eight minutes to run your program once you downloaded the input data, so the round was optimized for writing highly performant code at

Performance is not technically a criteria but you have eight minutes from the time you download the input data until you have to be done uploading the output data. So if you spend 50 minutes incrementing integers, then you'll get 0 points n

Boston has been the second biggest VC market (counting the Bay Area as one) but every report I've seen shows New York has tied or surpassed Boston over the past few years. http://mashable.com/2013/02/21/top-cities-startups/ http://mycrai

Still the place to be in Boston/Cambridge for start-ups, certainly, but it is hardly "the" place compared to San Francisco and the valley. The lack of funding, even compared to New York, has been a real problem for the ecosystem. Why did Fa

I wish it were a bit more robust than it is. The ZooKeeper version we run (3.3.4, admittedly not the newest) reports the wrong version number (3.3.3) and has a major bug in the way it does snapshots. We found that it doesn't serialize the t
