OpenAI came out just last night or today claiming they would hold the same line as Anthropic. Makes me think both sides knew Elon had already won the contract.

Cue xAI. And here’s the irony: Musk, who claimed only he is virtuous enough to defend us from AI, who insisted he always wanted model labs to be non profit and research focused, will now bring his for profit commercial entity into service t

Keep in mind: the government is very invested logistically in Anthropic. So no matter what xAI or OpenAI say - if and when they replace that spend - know that they are lying. They would have caved to the DoW’s demands for mass surveillance.

I am incredibly proud to be a customer, both consumer level and as a business, of Anthropic and have canceled my OpenAI subscription and deleted ChatGPT.

To say "except for distribution" OpenAI has few advantages is like saying "except for location" this retail store really doesn't stand a chance.

This is silly nonsense. >I publish this site via GitHub Pages Okay, and that depends on an entire economy and infrastructure of privately owned switching, other network equipment, fiber optic, etc, etc, etc, -- not to mention that if Git

That’s not a well informed argument. Even if Apple could finance the $1T+ it would cost to buy Anthropic - they’re not making that money back by making the iPhone a little better. The only way to monetize is by selling, as Anthropic does, e

Quite a low bar. And in any case, isn’t Google already a traitor to its original mission statement?

It's fascinating to watch this community react to positively to Google model releases and so negatively toward OpenAI's. You all do understand that an ad revenue model is exactly where Google will go, right?

I absolutely love Elixir, but if this is the bridge you need to cross, just write it in Python in the first place.

This. If you enjoy it for the sake of it, do more of it. You don’t need society with you. If, however, your job is to build value for a user, then you or the man or the system are to naturally optimize for what’s productive to that end. Arg

Remember when Apple PR spent a bunch of time putting Tim Cook alongside images of RFK? Civil rights hero! That campaign wouldn’t land these days.

Oh yes please let us hand over all of our real time communications to Sam Altman’s company. I’m as excited about that as I am to use their browser.

I’d love a fix for that and I’d love to see nano-texture on the iPhone. I have a test device S25 Ultra and I always enjoy looking at that screen so much more than an iPhone. The most recent iPhone says it has stronger anti-glare, but it’s r

An aside: The Verge’s paywall is ridiculous, especially given that they still live off slimy affiliate revenue and ads that run directly counter to their own editorializing. Their smugness and superiority given their business model makes me

I stopped using it about a year ago and I’m so much better for it. It was shocking that Apple would deliver a feed filled with so much tabloid trash and gross ads about plastic surgery and weight loss. It’s really a gross product.

According to Sam Altman, Anthropic is for "rich people." Judging by his $4 million man-baby Koeniggsegg, he must be a huge Claude Code user!
