People said that about Diablo 3, and it went on to be one of the best selling PC games ever made. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diablo_3#Sales

You know, as much as I would like to love this game, I simply don't understand the ridiculous amount of grind and repetition with respect to trying to collect resources. Especially when it's attempting, on some level, to be a reality-analog

I'll stick with Lua. I wouldn't give up the dynamic aspects of a language like Lua just for a bit more speed. LuaJIT is more than enough, and if you are doing the hard number crunching that makes speed an issue there's a good chance it's no

Commercialize up front. Have your pro version ready as soon as the service is out of beta. Otherwise you are just asking for trouble.

Okay, how about, it's an exact string match, it's wildly popular, and it's from a well known and long time developer whose apps have always been wildly popular? Is that enough yet, to make search not suck? PS, Google Maps is now the third s

Does that hold true when the exact string match is already #1 on the Free Apps list? Because to me, if it's an exact string match, AND it's wildly popular...

So, I find this out, I go directly to the App Store on my phone, and I do a search for "Google Maps". First five results:"Google Earth", "My Places for Google Maps", "My Maps Editor", "Road Tripper", and then finally "Google Maps" Seriously

Using a tile or node based A* map, there's no additional cost for altering heuristics on the fly. All paths are always dynamically generated on the fly. The only reason early AI had 'pre-calculated paths' (an assertion I am dubious about, t

I call bullshit on your pathfinding AI excuses. A* is A*, it doesn't matter if you dynamically modify the terrain, and it's easy enough to check if a path would end at walls or impassable terrain, and have the AI deal with that accordingly.

That's cool but for me it's also just as likely that I sign up for a trial and then use it once and forget about it, so having to go in and find out how to prevent billing and such is extra steps that simply shouldn't exist. Frankly I don't

No, and no. The issue here is: 1. I have never used this kind of service before. 2. I am not sure I would be willing to pay for it. 3. I am exactly the kind of person who would pay $5 a month for the convenience factor. 4. I am also the kin

Despite being wrong, I always interpreted Eulogy to being mostly positive, with an undercurrent of anger that was aimed mostly at his untimely death than anything else.

Yeah I know, but 'failure' as a mechanic is something that's a weak hold-out from a time when games weren't as good. Thus, the requirement for three hearts is largely negated. Plus it's not like most AAA games nowadays punish you for anythi

Yeah. I was only pointing out that there's a massively wide variety of electronic music these days, and saying that it sucks now is ignoring the history of electronic music where a lot of it started out as extremely boring stuff that appeal

Link electronic music that wasn't repetitive and wasn't released on Warp Records. Oh, and then go back and play The Legend of Zelda all the way to the end, and then come back here and say it was good. Also, you have a lawn? Lucky bastard.

As a long time game developer, the most impressive part of this game is that when you get to the end, and you don't have all the keys, you can simple break all the locks . That's the kind of game design that the game industry needs to lear

Yes, it's the sense of accomplishment, of finishing something that is the primary benefit of building these little models. You get to do it, it's relaxing, and you can say "I built that" at the end.

I'm doubtful you'll get an Ouya to begin with. But the point is that they have to have something to show; the Ouya itself should have had some hardware/software going. As is they were funded without even proper prototypes or software and pe
