i know this book is not for everybody but I really like the math approach here. software engineers don't like it when I say "data science has been around 500 years since Kepler and Newton" here they illustrate a nice connect

hackernews seems like the perfect place for this course. How many of us need GIS data? Or need to compute the rate of change... Can't use the (x^n)' = n x^(n-1) on real data! I need to take a derivative of some GIS numbers ha

models from engineering tend to make wildly unrealistic assumptions to get to a reasonable conclusion, e.g. the spherical cow this seems frowned upon in Biology, but then at least you are invited to fix your analogy later on. https:/

I noticed the green table always appears in the 5th and 10th columsn. if you make the table large enough, don't you run out of colors - I mean primes?

incidentally, I think Edison's test is trying to measure curiosity This test is ahead of its time and it is perfectly consistent with what we understand about Thomas Edison. I doubt anyone memorized the answers to this test -

great article i still think it's tough to find specific examples where symmetries help is in programming. semigroups represent the composition of code, and groups are just semigroups with an "undo" operation. e.g http:/
