Club is a good start! Do you like the people there? Ask if they want to grab food together after the club meeting sometime. Or invite them over for snacks, drinks (if you can obtain in a way you're comfortable with), videogames etc at

Yes I do this too, for exactly the same reasons. Also makes me feel like a grandpa, but who cares. Also it makes me realize how frequently apps fail to account for large system-level font sizes.

Here's a much weirder example of using midi data to generate singing: https://youtu.be/ZY6h3pKqYI0

Sorry, I may have been making unfair assumptions about your intent with your comment about the definition of "song." Let's assume that you are just eager to help me understand proper usage of the term. Thank you for pointing

Thanks for sharing this! My sister and I used to love listening to this song on our Gateway 2000 when we were kids.

Oof, that sounds like such a terrible interview experience, I'm sorry to hear it. I'm glad to say my Google interview wasn't like that at all. In my experience working at Google, code reviewers are more likely to communicate

Interesting! Is there a more direct link to a particular talk? I'm curious about this, and I see there is a single slide that shows a few bullet points in support of OCaml, but I don't see more than that in this link.

Maybe my debugger skills aren't strong enough, but I find that when I'm trying to reason about how some complicated code is executing, a debugger statement forces me to wade through tons of internals in libraries I don't care

Huh, why do you think you do that? Do you forget about the debugger statement, or is there some other reason you think console logging might work well?

Not so sure about this: "An example of a gentle environment is software development. Outcomes are clearly specified, frameworks are common and work well, and your actions receive instant and accurate feedback."

It sounds like you would be happier to see the next sentence get into greater detail about how targets ads impact privacy today. But the article does in fact do so (look at the paragraph that starts "This model has some major drawbacks
