You can also mix GC-managed and manually allocated types in the same codebase.

For now, we are still in research phase so we compile to C then machine code on our dev desktops. In the future we will probably stay with C or use C++ (for zero cost exceptions). We might not need Objective-C because the UI/UX part is

"ok" is not an ok commit message ;). Regarding setup, you should probably provide an example with mocked keys that we can copy-paste.

It's different because the honeymoon is probably finished. You are likely considering how to best part instead of how to best work together. And you are thinking about what went wrong, how much did you contribute to it, what could you

Given the Pascal history and even consideration of Ada, with the focus on expressiveness and ergonomics I'm surprised that Nim didn't make the shortlist. Nim even has an official Pascal-->Nim converter (called pas2nim) as the v

I don't understand the "D has generally better metaprogramming, however, rust has real macros" statement. Or do you mean like even though Rust allows you to work on AST, it's too clunky compared to D string mixins?

Can you propose a template with like the 5 minimum questions you need answered to get started: 1. What is wrong or what is missing? 2. What is the expected outcome? 3. What repo/module/screen? 4. Who is impacted, how and how often

In Asia, several dozens of authors are earning millions (in USD) by releasing chapters of novels on a daily basis. And English translators gets about ~$20-$100 per day from Patreon donations: Check - https://www.wuxiaworld.com

The code didn't change so there shouldn't be any difference on Nim stable. Unfortunately I catched a regression in Nim #devel branch itself which is very impacting if tensors are created in a tight loop. All in all I take performa

Indeed, in my case I didn't need arbitrary precision, just extending uint64 to uint128, uint256, uint512, ... Fixed size are perfectly fine for a variety of use cases, can be stack-allocated and are much faster due to the specializatio

I would be very interested in the test suite you used. I've finished my own bigint implementation in the Nim language: - stack and power-of-2 only for uint256, uint512, uint1024, etc), - using recursive types (uint128 = 2x uint64, uint

Rust is better than Go for sure ( cough Generics) but it's already hard enough to fight the mathematics, statistics and machine learning, scientists will not want to fight the Rust syntax as well. For me, the most promising compiled a

So precise and exclusive that it's irrelevant? Google, Facebook, Netflix, Uber, Amazon, Microsoft are all using Numpy in their data science pipelines, spinning and taking down dockers for ML-as-a-service. I'm pretty sure they care

Pypy can't accelerate the Pandas/Numpy part anyway, the computationally intensive code in Numpy and Pandas is coded in C, C++ or Fortran. Though there are a lot of if isInstance(Foo, bar) that could be avoided in a statically type

That isn't fair, all languages besides JS+HTML+CSS have issues with GUI libraries. Either you go Electron/webview or you have to deal with Qt/GTK for cross-platform GUI.

When you say constrained types do you mean generics? You have generics and concepts (similar to C++17) in Nim, not too sure about Ada.

I think Nim or Ada would fit your needs: - very strongly typed, you can even make sure you don't add Miles and Meters together, and that Meters * Meters give you square-meters - destructors
