There is a reason why certs have expiration dates. It's to control the damage after the site owner or someone else in the cert chain messes up. That doesn't mean expired certs are inherently not secure, only that you should still

No, but it reflects poorly on the maintainer. Plus, any browser complaint contributes to error fatigue. Users shouldn't just ignore these, and we shouldn't encourage them to ignore them just because we fail at securing our website

This is actually the feature that initially drew me towards uv. I never have to worry about where venvs live while suffering literally zero downsides. It's blazing fast, uses minimal storage, and version conflicts are virtually impossi

Hacker mentality was always about finding creative and surprising ways to use technology, so in that sense OpenClaw squarely fits in. It's not (yet) for everyone, but I applaud people who are courageous enough to experiment with it.

I never said you should publish to github. You can put it up on your own site, at least as a tarball. Even better: cgit or stagit

Am I blind or is there no link to the source? I get that running code from any old repo on github has become normalized, but running random binaries is pushing it. Also, I think when advertising a TUI, you should include an asciinema video

Yeah it might only work in edge cases. Someone I know got caught speeding in his wifes car wearing a hat and sunglasses and looked to the side at the time, so he managed to get out of it somehow.

Staging single lines or hunks is also much easier in a TUI/GUI. I wouldn't even know how to do it with just git.

So this has been a thing in Germany since forever. The driver must pay the penalty, not the owner. So what they do is take a picture of the driver and send this to the owner. They have to either pay up, or state the name of the person who d

Nobody said "we don't need to think at all" though. The statement was "not having to think", or rephrased: "being able to choose how much to think or what to think about".

I don't know why you think the condescending tone is appropriate. I've been using LaTeX for twenty years and I believe I understand the difference. I also respectfully disagree on your assessment of Typst.

Things break all the damn time with LaTeX. Example: https://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/730126/update-to-cle... Sometimes bugs appear only if you load three specific packages in a specific order. The fact that

The difference is: in web based cryptography, you get the cipher text and the code to decrypt it from the same source. Hijacking OS updates is arguably much harder than hijacking one particular web server, and there is pretty much no effect

If this takes off, I wonder if platforms will start providing API tokens scoped for assistants. They have permissions for non destructive actions like reading mails, flagging important mails, creating drafts, moving to trash, but not more.

It depends, I guess. When I make pizza dough, I use around .1% yeast. Using .4g instead of .8g would make a huge difference, and getting that right without carefully weighing it is neigh impossible.

Because while the recipes are easy to follow, you can't fix a baked dough. If you messed up the salt, the yeast, etc. that's it. Cooking is more forgiving in that sense.

Funny you'd say that. Other people say cooking is art, while baking is a science. No room for errors.

This looked interesting because I prefer rust over npm. The first issue I had was to figure out the schema of the models.json, as someone who hadn't used the original pi before. Then I noticed the documented `/skill:` command does
