Los of innocent people are convicted of crimes they didn’t commit, often on the basis of their conversations with the police. You have every right not to fear it, but it is not an uncommon occurrence

Somebody else linked to a follow up talk by the lawyer in the video[0], in which he gives an example where this exact thing happened , and they wound up convicting the guy based on his attempts to help them. He was later exonerated. [0]:

Y’all are not good at reading comprehension, is the only label I’ll apply to you here. I’ve had good friends work for Meta, and I don’t judge them for it. I wouldn’t work there, because how I feel about the company means I can’t feel good a

My answer already addresses this? I didn’t say every engineer works on those things. I said it’s a spectrum, with the people working on those things at one end. I also already answered that they all contribute to the edifice, with different

Obviously it’s a spectrum, no? Anyone contributing to the edifice is in some way furthering its core mission (giving girls depression, or utterly destroying society, depending on who you ask). At one end of the spectrum you have very talent

I have rolled my own config now, but I started in spacemacs, and then moved to doom a while later. FWIW I found doom much easier to grok and generally stabler.

TBF to the parent, I also started in spacemacs, then doom, before rolling my own config some years ago, and my early experiences also felt like upgrades were really hard to deal with and often breaking. I think most of that was because I di

I do think the community recognizes this to be an issue and is steadily working on improving beginner-friendly docs. I am about seven years into using Nix for various things, and can mostly solve most problems, but I won’t deny that the lea

I resisted buying an apple tv for a long time, because I was going to have a playstation either way for games! The (relatively) poor quality and difficulty of hooking my laptop up to the TV for criterion eventually pushed me to get one just

Agree Apple TV is not especially impressive (like, it’s fine, but I especially dislike the remote). I mostly just use my playstation, but there are some apps (criterion being the main one) that are not on the PS, so I use the Apple TV for t

I just read your article, and please don’t listen to the machines!!! It’s a very fun read, and I for one love some personality in an otherwise dry topic. The thing about keeping your personality in your writing is that you will have to be p

There’s a lot to be said for shared culture and customs. I am a second-generation American, and I love the familiarity and uniqueness of my family. I think people get really wrapped up in this idea of food as a proxy for culture, which make

I lived in Austin for a decade, and I think this is off base. Yes, Austin is not like rural Texas. But also, the state legislature is in Austin and loves nothing more than voting down or making illegal any progressive measure Austin tries t

I have found a decent trick to be to write a parameterized test with e.g. a `cases` array that tests a function how you want it tested. Then ask the LLM to fill out more cases. It’s not perfect, but results in much less brittleness since yo

Have you addressed anywhere why you chose not to keep the copyleft license? It burns a lot of goodwill to use an AI for what many people will see as copyright laundering, and git has done just fine with the GPL, so it doesn’t seem like a

This is a shallow dismissal of GP’s point. The point is more, “we aren’t sure it won’t work because it has never been tried,” which is much less of a straw man to argue with.
