This release will be great. Lots of people were waiting for variadic tuple types. I love when such "old" feature request is finally added to Typescript. First proposal for it was almost 5 years ago [1]. It really gives hope for

The point of being hard to use is valid. But I would focus more on being hard to learn instead. Once you know it you forgot about it 99% of times, for other 1% it's good to have this "git expert" on a team ;) For other poin

Centering in CSS is "solved" problem if your "worst" browser to support is IE11. Flexbox does the job there. However, there are still couple of common tasks that are pain/hard/impossible to do with just CSS. Re

Thanks! I didn't know about Alt-. I'm using powershell and it works there too.

As people mentioned there is `$ErrorActionPreference = "Stop"` but it's not equivalent to bash `set -e`. Looks like there is no consensus if we'll get something similar in the near future ( https://github.com&#

I use PowerShell for quite some time (mostly windows/.NET guy here) and it would be great tool except one thing: the amount of not obvious quirks is astounding and not really decreased over the years. Probably because of avoidance of b

I had idea to add something similar as tab completion to posh-git module for Powershell. Sadly it was not merged (is posh-git dead?) https://github.com/dahlbyk/posh-git/pull/641 I wonder if something similar

I wouldn't call change of `arrowParens` to `always` as "incredibly sane". This is just a differt opinion about what is "better". I have different.

Well, typescript is constantly improving over the years, witch each release you are able to represent more real-world JS patterns and type system is getting more strict options. So this 3 points from article might be improved in future. Abo

Looks like really cool and useful project. Is it usable on Windows though? I can't press Shift key to enter ":" for commands. Seems like a dealbreaker. I tested it on WSL and Ubuntu on VM and Shift works there. Anyway. Thi

Is the actual logic different in Java vs Kotlin examples? In Java: when `nullableVariable` is not null and someMethodCall() return `false` then we return what `fallbackIfNullMethodCall()` returns right? and in Kotlin in that case we just r

no yet really. But it's good first step to have "true" variadic types support. Right now I think you still can't represent stuff like `Promise.all` without many numbers of overloads.

I'm not sure if I understand fully this babel <-> typescript integration. Can you help me understand this? What's the point? So in future babel would be able to parse TS file and output JS file with all the transformations i

Once sometimes asked me "Isn't Typescript a language for C# developers that don't know JavaScript" It's unfortunate that people think that TS is similar to C# just because it came from Microsoft. Flow language is li

Yes, I'm doing basically the same (define constant a as literal type, then use "typeof" operator to define action type, and then create alias for all Actions using union type). That's one of the reasons why I miss possib

I've been using React + Redux + Typescript stack and I've been quite happy with it (It's hard for me to image how you could do big refactoring without TS). The fact that components props are verified by compiler instantly whe
