The point is that it does take away some freedoms, that the BSD license does not take away. This keeps getting brought up because people say that the GPL is about "freedom" when the freedom it guarantees is rather explicitly freedom for

This seems to be someone making an OSX version of Apple's already existing Sherlock program? I'm not really sure how Sherlock 3 was copying Watson, since it was pretty clearly an evolution of Sherlock 2.

We really need to stop measuring "compatibility" numerically. Its dishonest and encourages engineering decisions to be made instead of policy ones, when the data is purely the result of someone else's policy decision. Not all things have eq

I think its more like if Google had also developed their own standard for sending pages to replace HTML/JS/CSS, replaced DNS with their own page discovery system, provided tons of pre-built reusable components that make up almost all parts

I don't think I understand why people would pay for a tool like this: If I want to collect data from the users of my site, I'm going to write the survey ui myself: matching with the design of my site exactly and feeling seamless is crucial

This is true if that's how you frame journalistic neutrality; the important thing to realize then is that there's no way to discuss the neutrality of a news source at all meaningfully. Perhaps a different term would be better, but when I sa

In my experience, Al-Jazeera is remarkably neutral compared to most US news sources. They do tend to adopt a pro-Palestinian stance, but they're very professional about it.
