thanks for the response! I'm a big fan of doubly linked lists, so it was interesting to see that there was extra work to get them going. I'm certainly going to read up on this "ownership" thing. I get the impression that

I loved Gravity, obviously some of the science was bad but man what an experience, saw it in 3d, I haven't watched a 3d movie since some "wax museum" thing some time ago.

lol I built a drum machine too, its a nightmare of bash, perl, c, bc and invokations of sox. in my case, I can't show it off because the code is so bad it would do more harm than good. I wrapped the entire mess up into an easily called

I had a buddy try to etch a pc board once. He used a disposeable aluminum tray to do the etching in. Can you guess how it went?

I can tell you in my case, older folks who still program can be VERY picky on what new tools they elect to invest time in learning. When we elect to "keep up", we do it in the general case and I'll tell you why from my point

I loved reading about ada back in the day, how is it nowadays wrt network programming. I'm checking out gnat.sockets, does it have a snappy select() type thing like linux's epoll? Sorry if a lazy question, last time I looked at ad

I never used Ada, but read a book on it. I don't even remember much, just that how much I loved just the look of the example programs, but that was during community college when I was new to programming. It wasn't part of a class,

I managed to wire up sirc to a perl eliza implementation once. My cobol instructer in community college thought I was a pervert for doing so and in hindsight she was probably right, I think I only ran it once honestly. Nowadays I just run a
