Right. I'm not sure why others are misunderstanding how crowd-sourcing this information helps solves the problem. People saying that size numbers vary greatly are missing the point. If I say a particular piece fits me well (regardless of it

Maybe they could crowdsource this type of information. "People who said this item fit well, also said these items fit well..."

Good points. I guess I just fall into the category of people who want my phone/tablet to act as a fancy remote control, more than I want to be able to transition from watching a specific thing between multiple places.

This also illustrates one of my bigger gripes with how AirPlay works, in general. Why should the mobile device, that has limited battery (and maybe connection speeds) be the device that does the heavy lifting in this situation? The Apple TV

Would it be possible to load the files in Eclipse (or any editor) via USB, then edit and save them, and have AIDE compile and run it? This would save the hassle of maintaining Eclipse and the Android SDK on you development machine.

Right, but that would allow you to see and (gasp!) install apps that Amazon doesn't want you to install on the Fire.

No one arrives at any design independently. Design decisions are always informed by what's been proven successful, whether be the current designer or their competitors. Apple has of course influenced the market. The question is whether Appl

It's a different color, which, in Apple's view, is good enough of differentiation. But I do wish it was a more standard USB port, like the micro one that Amazon's adopted.

Is it safe to assume that eBooks will eventually go through a similar lifecycle as mp3s? Where, at first, publishers force DRM on items sold, but eventually give in because of customer complaints and demands regarding stuff like what happen

I'm sure there's plenty of people who have referred to OSX as "Windows." Might not be the case so much now that Macs are becoming more popular, but I think my point still stands: calling for either tablet to be banned is just as absurd as c

I used to have a 3G Kindle, but it was stolen, and now I have a WiFi Kindle. I agree with what you guys are saying, but without the 3g, my impulse purchases have really gone down. For example, I used to buy periodicals while on the train wi

Right, that's true, but I was thinking just of e-ink devices. It's a tough sell, though, since e-ink devices are really only good for reading, so there might not be much incentive for creating an open e-ink device that can run 3rd party app

And the problem with saying "No one will buy Amazon e-books without a Kindle, and no one will buy a Kindle if they can't read the books elsewhere," is that it's already untrue. With the Kindle app on iOS and Android devices, plenty of peopl

Is there a hope that with more (successfully) competing e-book vendors, more DRM-free books will be in the works? As a Kindle owner, the biggest thing preventing me from considering buying a Google books based device would be the fact that

This makes we wish we could rate Watson's performance against the players in a way that didn't involve the buzzer. For instance, if Watson and each player were able to give responses for every single clue in the game, who would have the hig

Agree with others here that this is post is a bit... dramatic. But I think of this as a shortcoming of the English language. The fact that a gender-neutral pronoun for a person doesn't exist (or exists, but isn't widely used) is forcing thi

Here's hoping it has something to do with turning iTunes into a web app/store. I'm not trying to make a not-so-subtle dig on Apple by saying this, but I don't own an i(Phone/Pod/Pad) or a Mac computer, so I don't use iTunes, which is horrif
