That’s a hard argument to make if completely alienated populations, irrespective of geographical location, coalesce around the same idea.

But women not being submissive has led to devastating effects on the children. Maybe that’s something we need to work on reimplementing.

What’s your composting technique? Do you just put everything into a large plywood box and turn and wet it often?

Spousal support is an archaic holdover that doesn’t belong anymore and child support should not be a thing offered in at fault divorces. For the latter I’m not sure how you can go about implementing that ethically though. If the dad cheated

Those incentives will be self manifesting. If every household did this we would have a much smaller labor force, essentially forcing companies to pay more.

Yes. In many cases taking away the power from a parent can force them to “behave” in a way that provides an overall better outcome for the child.

Even uncontacted tribes coalesce around two forms of family. Extended or polygamous. There is a natural state.

I’m saying we tried that and don’t have much to show for it.

Whatever, I’m sick of some outliers discounting something that works as a whole. I don’t take your conjecture to be true. Even hunter gatherers societies that exist today, including uncontacted tribes have two modes of family. Nuclear/

I guess I’m referring to Indian and Chinese immigrants who come here with pretty much nothing and then through sheer hard work manage to become the richest demographics in the country.

The current paradigm doesn’t work so maybe the “70s” had it right. Our kids are more depressed than ever, the parents have been run haggard due to wage declines with women joining the workforce, care of our kids is outsourced to daycares, a

The issues in Europe seem to be caused by Russia. What’s your point?

It’s sad to see a country just fade away. I hope they can convince their people to breed more or let in more immigrants while still maintaining their culture.

Immigrants prove that hard work really is still a predictor of success in the United States. However the system is definitely rigged.

You can make two lanes of freeways automated only where the speed limit is 200 mph

Do you have good soil on your land or do you need to bring in a lot of outside topsoil and compost each year.

You have to have a good soil on your land. I have acres and acres of land but it’s all clay. Tobacco is about the only thing that grows easily.

You can say the same thing about high speed trains now. The difference is, a well set up automated system is probably the best odds a kid is going to get at survival because if all the cars are networked they will know ahead of time there i

Yeah jackfruit, bananas/plantains, mangos, oranges, coconuts, a bunch of other local stuff basically just grows with almost no intervention.

That would be UBI and I’m all for it but then 70% of people wouldn’t work. If you argue otherwise you know you’re wrong. What would be amazing is if we find a way to make society still function that way.

Yes, but the take away from this for me I’m glad they didn’t get their way. There are going to be growing pains and sometimes you lose, I mean it could be me tomorrow but technology needs to keep progressing!

It depends on where you live. In many tropical places you can essentially grow year round and there’s enough natural fodder that goats don’t really need a whole lot of supplemental nutrition. Also you can have fruit trees that bear a lot of

Probably. I can see the only automated car rule being for freeways only or large urban areas only and it would still make a significant difference. Or maybe the automated vehicles get their own two lanes on the freeway. Many ways to go abou

We said you can’t have horse drawn buggies on highways, I don’t see why you couldn’t have a similar rule for automated vehicles 50 years from now.

I said all vehicles. If they’re all automated, they can all talk to each other and effect all those changes.
