I genuinely did not understand that you were asking for documentation. I believe GNU follows the SysV ABI on amd64: https://refspecs.linuxfoundation.org/elf/x86_64-abi-0.95.pdf

Again, I don't know (and never claimed to know) everything that's good and everything that's bad. But I do know some things that are good and some things that are bad.

No, I meant what I wrote. Some things are good, some things are bad. Some people are wrong. There are plenty of subjective areas where people can disagree without being fundamentally bad people. These things are not those.

A good way to prevent this anti-EU sentiment would've been to not go through with these obviously stupid ideas. Weird that the EU doesn't seem to realize? Or do you think, maybe, that there's a deeper issue here and the probl

There is no ISO C definition of opendir(), that's a POSIX thing. But yeah, those DIR objects which opendir() returns a pointer to are probably some kind of heap allocated. But we're talking about a system call involving the filesy

The way most programs achieve being fast is by re-using allocations. You don't need a fast allocator if you don't allocate. Nothing of what ripgrep does inherently requires frequent allocations.

That jpeg2png is extremely cool and looks like something which could be built in to image viewers. Naturally, nothing about the "maximally smooth decode" process requires the output to be PNG.
