Admittedly, P+R is only a (kind of) solution for people of suburbia commuting into the office towers etc of the city. Pretty common scenario around the globe, but maybe not in Texas. Escooters are nice to cover the last mile.

I was immediately reminded of the stern warnings to keep out of flooded basements until you've made sure the electricity to the house is cut off. I found[1] at least one person who died this year because of this lesser-known risk of fl

Yeah, and I keep pasting the wrong thing because the terminal emulator tries to simulate the X behavior (which is very useful) but doesn't maintain a separate buffer like X does.

For the majority of Android phones, two to three years was also the length of time you got software updates of you bought the phone right when it was released, if you were lucky. I would have loved to pay somebody 80 EUR to replace the batt

I found this, but it's an interview in Dutch (which I don't speak): https://www.538.nl/bas-en-dylan/het-mysterie-rondom-het-numm... They seem to think the lyrics are handcrafted, but performed by AI. For all

The cleanup after a broken tempered glass breaks isn't worse than after a regular glass in my experience. There are more shards, yes, but they are individually less dangerous. And in either case the annoying thing is having to be thoro

Complicated, but routinely done? Glass recycling seems to be routine and widespread. Glass containers and jars, that is, not drinking glasses.

I wonder how Duralex compares to Superfest in terms of durability. Duralex is certainly more durable than regular glass, but I have stopped demoing it because it does break sometimes. Our Duralex glasses are also pretty thick, while the Sup

People keep writing this, but the tomatoes I grew myself and those grown by friends as well as local very small scale growers haven't lived up to the hype. Presumably this just isn't a good place to grow tomatoes. But I guess Prov
