Your ego drives every action of your existence, so no, you really can't. What you can do is be self aware of that reality.

Totally agree with you. I think the industry is going through an "emperor has no clothes" thing with unit tests and dependency inversion at the moment. The creator of BDD gave this talk a few years ago, which resonated with me: h

Yes. An example was moving to the version of GHC where the semigroup change happened. The codebase was using this library: https://github.com/brendanhay/gogol . The library dropped support for one version of Google'

Huh? My whole comment is about the fact that they DID cause a lot of problems for production software. The company wrote their flagship product in Haskell, and there is a pretty large chance that that decision will doom them because of the

I've been writing Haskell for 12 years so I'm aware of the abstractions it offers. At the end of the day though, either we're building a bridge or we're not. If we're building a bridge (i.e. a distributed database,

Anyone using Haskell to drive their business is making a huge mistake in my experience. Haskell2010 is a fine language. Unfortunately, the ecosystem has centered around whatever the latest version of GHC is, with its millions of language ex

Java is pretty good. Go. C because of the nature of how libraries are shipped. Just as an example: "0 - libcurl 7.1, August 2000 1 - libcurl 7.5 December 2000 2 - libcurl 7.7 March 2001 3 - libcurl 7.12.0 June 2004 4 - libcurl 7.16.0 O

You're entitled to your opinion, but most of it is 100% bullshit in my eyes. I'll use Haskell as example. The ecosystem is a mess. `stack` is admirable effort to make development palatable, but it's ultimately a technical sol
