According to the article you linked, that was debated even at the time: > PC Magazine Editor in Chief Lance Ulanoff criticized the campaign's use of the term "PC" to refer specifically to IBM PC compatible, or Wintel, comp

Bun doesn't even support a way to check types, just remove them. > Note — Similar to other build tools, Bun does not typecheck the files. Use tsc (the official TypeScript CLI) if you're looking to catch static type errors.

For small projects you can also add something like Watchtower to your compose file and then you need only build and push the image. And I assume you want to be building once to test your changes anyways, so you really only need to push.

> written throwaway code to make a deadline A deadline is a business decision. An engineer makes a tradeoff (incurring tech debt) in order to meet the business goal. How is this remotely an ethics issue?

Podman looks cool, is there any equivalent of Watchtower ( https://containrrr.dev/watchtower/ ) for Podman?

The React versioning is a bit silly, but React 15 was the first major version (in 2016) which makes it more like 4 major releases in 9 years. Not that different from 8 major releases over 20 years.

Looking for advice from someone who knows about the space - Suppose I'm willing to go out and buy a card for this purpose, what's a modestly priced graphics card with which I can get somewhat usable results running local LLM?

Not the original commenter - It has just been a pretty low effort drop in replacement for me. It's definitely not a complete game changer, but quick iteration is just that bit more convenient since it's faster and I don't nee

I believe Starlark was renamed Skylark, even internally. Bazel is a build system that uses Starlark as a configuration language, not a fork of Starlark.

If you consider the so-called Byzantines to be Romans (and you should, for lots of reasons), the Roman state was at least a notable regional power all the way from the mid 300s BCE all the way up to 1204 - that's around 1500 years. And
