A terrible thought indeed, one which you can never escape after seeing it. However, unless you want to live in misery, the delusions are all you have to enjoy the ride, what little time there is. But the thought always returns.

uTorrent jumped the shark many many years ago. qBitTorrent is what you want probably since it's an open source uTorrent clone without the ads (alternatively Transmission if you want something really basic that just works).

You're completely right. People thought paying money would stop ads from permeating cable TV originally [1], and look what happened there. History is repeating itself and yet you still have people in this very thread carting out the ti

Hey, I never had that significant of an experience but I spent some weeks in the hospital myself in my 20s-early 30s and I can relate at least somewhat. It does get depressing. For me it was being next to someone in chronic pain crying ou

I'm not sure what some of the spikes in years past were about, but again it's a scale of 'how popular the terms were' from 0-100 not a raw count. You can see it spiking hard recently compared to the average. Without seei

Why would they be searching in English? Also those numbers are "relative popularity" on a scale of 0-100. I'm seeing what the article claims here, more or less. But it's a little unclear exactly what search terms they we

The autoplay videos are often videos of their affiliated streamers on Twitch as well, which artificially increases the "viewers" count of said Twitch streams (thousands of viewers just browsing their wikis). You'll notice fex

Honest question: who actually wants these features? Why are MS-specific subscription integrations at the OS level desirable to me as a home user? It really doesn't seem hard to visit a website the rare times I want to modify a subscrip

I can't replicate at all, in fact I get zero results labeled as ads for the same search (on desktop, logged in, using FF). I have my search history paused, perhaps that could be affecting it? Edit: I now see 3 ad results after disablin

Literally nobody was arguing this, though. The OP's outburst about the "vitriol" on this topic also seems pretty overly dramatic, tbh, and has done wonders to derail things because it hurls personal insults.

It's not weird to me or a lot of people I know. I don't want to be online 24/7 (don't bring my phone with me most places, etc.) and I avoid smart devices for the most part in my house. I think people in general prefer si
