To go even further, podman supports actual sidecars (one or many forming a pod) and even supports actual Kubernetes deployment manifests without needing a kube-apiserver.

Sounds like they were building an aarch64 image, building an x86_64 image on Apple Silicon will also be slow - unless you are saying the M* builds x86_64 faster than an i9?

Right I'm not suggesting inside a vm or LXC, I mean directly on the debian operating system of the proxmox host. Then kubevirt and proxmox would create vms on the same metal. They are both qemu under the covers

Installing Kubernetes on proxmox would be on bare metal. Proxmox is debian + proxmox packages. My motivation for proxmox is making use of it's ui which kubevirt lacks

Normally when launching the "linux terminal" on ChromeOS aka crostini - a kvm is created with lxc, the default penguin container and any additional containers run as lxc containers inside inside this vm. baguette appears to allow

Has anyone tried to run kubevirt on proxmox. As in bootstrap k8s on debian and manage kvms with k8s yet still retain the option to use proxmox for managing the same kvms

What would the purpose of that be? Why so much effort to increase "market share" of something that is not for sale. The entire concept of "switching" is weird because you don't have to legally declare your operating

LXC requires Linux. So you can actually use multipass to run LXC on macOS and Windows. I believe that was actually one of the main motivators for the multipass project. It's also my theory that orbstack on macOS works like this

Multipass is better than vagrant in my opinion because it supports cloud-init which is the most portable and flexible way to bootstrap a server. Multipass also supports any qcow2 machine image, both from filesystem or http that has cloud-in

To me that is the best part. There is no shareholder value to answer to, there is no market share because there is nothing for sale. People can complain about gnome or kde and it doesn't matter one bit. You can't stage a "hos

Such a casual and low-key introduction of what sounds like an incredible new capability. 1 . Would something like this replace packer for creating machine images? 2. Curious how quickly the replay log grows and how it compares to a CoW snap

Why comment on something that you have never used? The fact that containers supporting arm64 is not relevant because this project requires x86. Combine that with the fact that apple no longer sells x86 hardware - it would seem that them si

Would be funny to do a new version on proxmox to satisfy the proxmoxers. Then at the end reveal that proxmox was actually running on kubevirt with nested virt the entire time.

ChromeOS flex can't run Android apps like native ChromeOS - so getting the framework chromebook edition will give you all bells and whistles.
