It would seem this devkit is even more ideal for you? 80 cores and buy as little memory as you want. Not to mention it does not need clustering and runs any aarch64 distro of your choosing

I always chuckle to myself when things like k3s, microk8s and so on claim to be "lightweight" kubernetes. Lightweight compared to what exactly? Because pure, upstream, vanilla kubernetes (kubeadm) is the lightest possible, it doe

ChromeOS? It can be installed on generic hardware with ChromeOS flex. I also don't see how it's not a Linux distro, considering it runs LXC and KVM. A Linux distro is simply a Linux kernel + someone else's mess on top. Chrome

The only advantage I see is it dosen't require a kube-apiserver. Other than that it feels like just running a quick throwaway cluster with kind and writing actual manifests is more accurate and portable.

macOS + systemd? If on Linux this tool allows you to move config dir and file locations transparently. Pretty neat. https://github.com/queer/boxxy

You are correct, no nested virt support on macOS or Asahi. The rumor is this could be coming eventually to Asahi on M2, and maybe a future macOS release - but until it actually does it's a pretty huge drawback of apple silicon that is

macOS can't run Linux containers because it's not Linux. It requires a vm and additional tooling, configuration, resources and just general considerations because of this. It's also impossible to work with anything KVM relate

It's the same RDS though. These controllers enable you to manage the lifecycle of the exact same AWS services you get when using the AWS console or CLI. Kubernetes is the porcelain and AWS offerings are still the plumbing.

Docker Desktop runs dockerd in a Linux VM with Apple's hypervisor framework. You can also run containers in a Linux VM with Parallels or VMware Fusion hypervisors, QEMU on macOS also uses HVF not KVM. But you can't run VMs inside
