I'd say start with layers and over time evolve the repo. For example, http, service, and repository layers. http has your request handlers and you parse those input DTOs or whatever here and call service. service has your business logi

I think a lot of people use it for the wrong use case, and then people who don't fully understand many things propagate malinforation after misinterpreting the article and its findings/learnings.

When you’re too cheap and dumb to spend $0.02 per user for a robust auth system and decide to fuck everything up instead.

Thanks for the rec. Yeah that’s the issues I’m running into. What makes it worse is that users can define their own nesting so building the dynamic queries in application code is becoming really difficult. Add on the problem of needing to c

well if you’re a problem solver and creative you can figure those out pretty easily. Anyway yeah I guess if you want specific skills you could just learn whatever is in demand and get the job.

Creativity and problem solving. I think those get someone really far (and way further than others), no matter what stack or other "specific" skills.

Quick question. So you’re saying use bigserial for PK (instead of uuid) and have another column where I set a uuid in case of application level identifier. But wouldn’t that require a index on it if it’s going to be an identifier that’s use

Why’s that bad? If companies were building something that can be trivialized so easily that’s on them. Imo. A company can use whatever wrapper services but the business they serve should be smarter.

I’ve done this before as a swe. We used Go and our chat system had auth, file sharing, 1:1 and group messaging, and other features. It was honestly not that hard to code, maybe 4-5k loc including all the type definitions. Took around two we

Nah interest rates and tax changes just make that not feasible anymore. Honestly imo as someone who had a high TC we really need to lower the expectations that a lot of people have about salary. I think we should scale back to 100k for juni

I don't personally mind LC, but I always asked questions related to our company and based on specific problems we had in the past, or some imagined scenarios that would help our customers.

I think you're conflating a few things. Passwords being leaked is due to noobs and idiots in charge of systems, and probably not using an actual auth provider. It really isn't that hard. 1. Send secure information over SSL. If som

But the token is used over SSL and the only way to get it afaik is to hijack the client device or somehow hijack the server. The first scenario is pretty rare and the second is pretty easy to avoid. I don’t think that’s really an edge case
