Fasting isn't hacking, but I'd say the mental changes and introspection that went along with it in this case is hacking.

This reminds me a little of giving up smoking. That was definitely mind hacking. Obviously the endpoints are different (giving up tobacco forever good, giving up food forever bad).

Was the link on /newest or on the front page? I think it would be helpful if usernames on the new page appeared in green not when they were created within the last week, but when they had never submitted a link that was subsequently upvoted

NTRUEncrypt is a public key encryption algorithm that is considered unbreakable even with quantum computers. Citation needed. Who considers it unbreakable even with quantum computers?

The author confuses a terminal with a shell running in a terminal. I'd like for my terminal to be able to open a stream of html in my web browser. Use case: running `man blahblah` in a ssh session opens a nicely formatted page in a local br

The question is, which web sites (not owned by Google) use SPDY? None afaik, which means it's a server-side competitive advantage for Google, and that they want it as widespread as possible client-side.

Some sites I use detect AdBlock, and either ask for me to switch it off or to give them a donation. I've always assumed they detect it by noticing that a function defined in the ad-serving js is not present in the page.

Authors of html minifiers should be interested in and potentially take advantage of these rules --- but that's not very many people, and I agree that most html producers should not try to get clever about this.
