There are engineers at Spotify who read Hacker News. They've noticed the threads. Maybe there's one reading at this very minute. Create a burner and speak your mind, comrade.

Yes. Absolutely. In many ways, I think Car Thing did the inverse of what I expected it to do. It was mounted on my dash for a total of about 5 minutes.

Folks, this is not plagiarism. It’s simply unoriginal.

Rdio used a one-letter prefix for entity types. The company was bought & sold before it became an issue. I agree with the author. But practically speaking, for every example where semantic IDs broke down, there are probably 10 examples

My vote is yes - some sort of intermediate representation is involved. It just seems unbelievable that it's end-to-end with 2D frames...

I have a vague memory of setting up a Windows 3.11 machine at my dad's office to emit typewriter clacking from the PC speaker on keypress - and a separate carriage return ding for the enter key...I'm sure no one was annoyed!

This looks pretty cool! Would love to see a quick YouTube demo of the product in action. What's the biggest benefit of the MIDI capability, in practice?

Sounds like you are talking about a very specific place. I object to the reduction that "most things in the world are some form of a scam." High-trust societies do exist.

Kudos to the author. Went through a ton of effort to put together what amounts to a bug report on a silver platter. I hope it reaches the right audience within Apple.

Yes! Proud owner of Pianoteq myself. Performance MIDI + Pianoteq is better than a recording, because it's so tweakable, and has a noise floor of zero. Can't tell you how glad I am to hear that at least one other person has used Ch
