It’s always funny to me to see folks with the “HN leans _________” comments every few days with the blank spot filled in with every single political position one can think of.

I once read a book that could have been a pamphlet or maybe a paragraph that boiled down to “Don’t have a script you memorize, but do practice over and over and over and over and over until you feel entirely comfortable with the material”.

I agree entirely. I feel like CocoaPods should have done this shortly after iOS 8 was released when dynamic frameworks were added. It was a terrible solution to a problem that way outlived its usefulness and because of that has absolutely p

The base-stealing that comes with the throwing out the term “winner-take-all” is astounding. People claim this all the time on HN without any shred of evidence that it is the case. The history of technology and markets show this just isn’t

I guess the point is if someone discovers a bug and opens a PR to fix it, then that person is, in a way, also a maintainer. They are “paying” for the maintanence of the project in time and effort.

We watched the original trilogy a couple months back with our kids and we were all so impressed by how they looked. And it wasn’t an “impressive for their age” but legitimately looked better than modern day films.
