LLMs have mostly replaced Stack Overflow for me. I wonder if this is true for other people too.

It all depends on a software one is supposed to be responsible for. For some, it'll at most a few pages a year, for others it'll be constant pain having to deal with problems.

My experience is that I have to basically always overestimate if I can get away with it because otherwise if something goes wrong, I will pushed to do free overtime to complete all the work assigned in a given sprint.

There are many examples of this, the most recent one would be regulation regarding plastic bottle caps.

These directives are mostly useless bureaucracy. I don't think anything of value has been lost. My experience with European Union is that the EU politicians mostly live in a ivory tower and spend their days producing garbage laws and a

I didn't read the article because it is behind paywall but I fear it will actually have the opposite effect. They have basically destroyed industry by strangling it with high energy prices and now they want to manufacture in Europe aga

It look like promising idea, though I'm a bit spectical that they can actually make it work with other executors like for example stackless coroutines transparently and it probably won't work with code that uses ffi anyway.

It seems like a huge stretch. The US still has a pretty good fertility rate for a developed country, much better than most of the Europe.

I haven't seen it being used for anything else with the exception of some devops tools like chef.

This can happen it every language. I have seen the same thing happen in a project written in Java when someone has wrongly set the bean scope.

RoR was a breath of fresh air when it was released, things could be done quicker and with much fewer lines of code but nowadays I don't think I would choose to use it again. Other languages has caught up.

His business seems to be centered around UI design and front-end development and unfortunately this is one of the things that AI can do decently well. The end result is worse than a proper design but from my experience people don't rea

Do they really need to keep those open 24/7? There aren't probably many costumers at night anyway. Where I live there are basically no shops open at night and it seems completely fine.

I'm pretty sure this is intended to store and produce heat anyway. They aren't going to be using this for generating electricity.

The generation of electricity from solar is more or less the same.

EU taxes fossil fuels heavily and the didn't really build more solar than the US.

I don't agree. LLMs don't have to completly replace software developers, it is enough to reduce the need for them by 30% or so and the salaries will nosedive making this particular career path unattractive.

The author may not care but I doubt people care that a software has been developed by AI instead of a human. Just like nobody cares whenever a hole has been dug by hand using a shovel or by an excavator.

I'm pretty sure that this post is not right. JS behaves the same way Python does in this example. Not sure about C#, though I suspect it is no different.

I wouldn't call European governments considering its people. Basically all of European countries suffer from housing crisis and nothing is being done to actually address it.

High energy prices are a self-imposed problem. The price of electricity is heavily dependent on the price of the most expensive energy source. Electricity from fossil fuels is expensive in European Union due to emissions trading system. A c

I wouldn't exactly call Flutter native. It uses its own rendering engine and doesn't necessarily behave like operating system native controls. It is not really different from using electron.

Speaking of lisp, if I wanted to use a lisp nowadays, what would be the best choice, common lisp, clojure or some scheme implementation?

Did they even really do anything wrong? This whole emission trading thing is a bordeline scam anyway, they just didn't have the right connections so they weren't allowed to profit from this and got caught.

I think it is due to the fact that Perl has some confusing bits like those variable prefixes ($@%), the lack of function arguments (I know that this has changed recently), not really great error handling, etc and so people started using lan

All of them are trying to create something which seems declarative on top of a mutable system. In my experience, it only works decently well when a special care is taken of when writing playbooks.
