If you were to write a post about taking an example imperative program and showing the conversion to FP, I’d be very interested to read it. Or if you have a link handy to someone else’s post? For me it’s difficult to immediately understand

I think the model is great in a sandboxy kind of way - you don’t feel weird launching the sausage man out of a cannon, it makes it funnier. It’s kind of like complaining that crash test dummies don’t have wigs on. Who cares?

Wouldn’t it be relatively straightforward to link this helicopter thing to another app on the side of the ground officer? The camera knows the point on the map wherever the crosshairs is, just ping a GPS point from the camera interface and

That’s kind of the problem I have with it, I guess. It’s not something to be pithy about, it comes across as a euphemism that softens the impact of the violating act it actually is.

If you did this in public you’d be sent to jail. Why is it ok on the internet? Unsolicited indecent exposure is sexual harassment.

The term “Cyberflashing” is ridiculous. It makes it sound innocent and cutesy. We already have a term for this, it’s sexual harassment.

VR has been “5 years away” for decades. They even made kids shows about it in the 90s, and there was the Virtual Boy console from Nintendo. And here we are, 25 years later, and it’s still just a gimmick looking for a use case.

I am pretty sure gitlab can show diffs after a force push. It says in the history that you pushed a new version of the commit, and allows you to browse to any of the versions of the commit.

I remember frequently having to manually select the correct encoding while browsing in the 90s and early 00s. I’m glad it’s gone.

It’s sort of like saying Amazon is a delivery company. It’s part of a division of their company, and a main component at that. But it’s not like SREs working at AWS know or care about logistics.

Groovy does a good job with this type of thing. Edit: but a bad job at a lot of other things.

This isn’t really a value proposition to any of the companies that are looking to use cloudflare. When something big like AWS goes down, it’s just understood by users that stuff is all broken everywhere. It’s not really an opportunity to ge

The raises had to be approved though, right? It seems like an excuse to blame software for this. And it seems really off-putting that they wouldn’t just own the error, but instead try to revert it.
