I love his definition of a startup: "startups are a temporary organization designed to search for a scalable and repeatable business model.". Solid, concrete advice in this book - advice you can disagree with, not just apple pie advice. Com

I think that's too harsh. The book has more "micro" errors than I'd like to see. By "micro" errors I mean some poorly drawn diagrams and some grammar errors that break my flow. I noticed that no editor is credited, and the book would be imp

I learned to program with Actor. God I loved programming in that environment. Why the heck did Symantec buy the whitewater group if they were just going to kill the damn thing!

I've worked in image processing and pattern recognition my whole career (~20 years). My last position was as principal software engineer. I don't have a graduate degree so it is certainly possible to work in the field without one. Many plac

I'm having the same problem. I searched the code for "semantic-load-enable-code-helpers" and it isn't in any of the .el files in any of the directories under "lisp". Would be nice to try this out, but I'm too busy to get this going today (I

Hmmm, it's taking longer than I'd like to get a confirmation email, so I'll have to try later. I'd love it if you added bass tabs. I don't expect the market is large enough to justify it, but I thought I'd ask.

"How much theory for recognizing objects in images?": Some pattern recognition, lots of image processing. For the most part, it doesn't matter what classifier you use: k nearest neighbor, support vector machine, random forest, neural nets. T
