Differences in racial health outcomes are absolutely concerning and the medical training issues you call out are unacceptable. However, examples like OBGYN diversity might outline a slightly different aspect of race and racial issues in the

Completely agree with the ideal situation you present. The problem is that this doesn't hold up under the pressures of small teams chasing high growth. Nobody is intentionally sabotaging anyone else (usually) but everyone stretches a l

This reads like reasonably normal high growth growing pains. Miserable but common as everything is constantly breaking (not just the product but organizational systems and processes) as the company piles on new hires and new customer demand

> Less moderation and more open speech would drastically improve most subreddits. This just isn't true. Subreddits without moderators get buried in spam (both thinly veiled self-promotion and outright unrelated spam link dumping). (

I’m not familiar with the French market but Intuit is still on track to keep crushing it in the USA. Intuit spent $2.35B USD on R&D last year (across all products) and QBO revenue grew 33%. Many startups in the space are building featur

Even Plaid regularly fails to sync and they still rely on screen scraping for many banks. It might get better though, with the CFBP open banking initiative.

Banks don’t all offer API access in the USA. It’s getting better but can still be a mess of needing to use Plaid, Yodlee, screen scraping, etc… for bank data access.

This isn’t uncommon in suburbs. Some people care more about preventing easy access to their community than they do about having easy access to other communities.

Maybe. Starting a business does involve the classic “now you have all of your customers as bosses instead of just one boss” but it also unlocks much more autonomy and frees you from the loss of agency that the author felt in their corporate

A few companies have done this but calling it the stereotypical playbook is a bit over the top. Also, there are many startups building stupid junk to capture a piece of the pie but also many startups working on real problems. This whole com

No disagreement here. Ignoring the other pros/cons of BigTech vs. startup work culture that some might mention, many startup employees would take BigTech jobs if they could. Not everybody can land a BigTech job though.

I hope this is what’s going on because the comments in this thread are wild. People cheering for thousands of businesses to lose funds and potentially go under just because they chose the wrong top-20 bank to hold their cash??
