It won't be pretty but if you can access the CPU from the top or bottom, you can strap a desktop heatsink down with zipties running both ways around the laptop.

When something like universal healthcare or a $15 min wage goes into law, it's one less thing the union has to negotiate for. The union doesn't have to give up a certain number of sick days to make sure workers are getting $15

You can filter the sensor data to get rid of any "sparkles". You can also add in power controls for the sensor so that you can reboot them when they either stop responding or send too much erroneous data.

There is also a time-domain problem with regards to total integrated dose. All the parts will degrade over time. Radiation hardened parts can have lives of 15 years or more in a GEO environment. A commercial part might be lucky to make it 1

Terry Crews is 6'2" and 245lbs. That's an obese BMI at 30.6. Does he look obese to you? Fat is heavy, muscle is even heavier, both will cause your BMI to go up. Obviously most people don't look like him so really the BMI

Some people I work with have made very complex Excel "machines" that have been in use by many people for decades. One of the new engineers spent about six months porting one over to MATLAB and there were all kinds of magic numbers

I use Excel in my data processing workflow. I'll grab a small subset of the data to play around with in excel to see what it is I actually need out of it. Then, I'll do all of the real processing in python along with matplotlib fo

The restore CDs that the OEM included with the computer still had all the crap baked into it. You needed a retail copy of Windows and hopefully someone hadn't ripped the OEM key sticker off the computer.

I would love a "lite" version of this service that delivers menus and some basic recipes for the featured items on the menu to either my email or SMS.

Finishing is what separates a nicely cooked meal from the version you would find in a Michelin star restaurant. The way it's sliced, the way it's placed on the plate, whatever else is on the plate, and how it's finally served

I limit myself to one mug in the morning and another around lunch if I need the help on the days I do drink coffee. I try not to build up a caffeine tolerance since it's the next best thing to ADHD drugs for me. If you just like coffee

Ok, what about it? Just posting a link to a wikipedia page about one of the most famous IRC networks is very low effort and really doesn't offer any insight as to why this is important to the original poster or to anyone else.
