Yet another reason why, as a startup, you should stay far away from writing your own payment processing - unless you're a payment startup. It's not a timesink, it's a freaking black hole.

at least three very unsimilar transit connections are used. What does transit mean in this context; like between my VPC and your appliance? Can you give an example for e.g. an AWS region? How is the appliance implemented, is it physical h

the TTL value is not realiable. How is the TTL not reliable? In my personal experience DNS cut-overs have never been a problem. Is there any major OS or ISP doing DNS wrong?

I'd suggest you scrap your "fancy" website and replace it with two paragraphs of text that explain what you are trying to sell and how it works. The "vague bullshit in between cute animations" approach really doesn&

Sorry, neither the idea nor the execution impress me very much. This seems about as useful as the "random radio" function in every existing music player. Except it is slow and cumbersome to use. EDIT: Please note this reply was wr

Yes, apt is indeed one of the best we have (the one-eyed amongst the blind). Sadly it's still using a flawed[1] trust model where you trust repositories rather than publishers. And the UI-shim over GnuPG is 'basic' at best (t

This applies to pretty much every pkg manager ever created. That's why it's important to have end-to-end package signing with a reasonable UI, so people can choose to selectively trust the sources they need and get alerted before

This is NOT native scrolling. You still have to manually toggle "scroll-mode", get janky lag because of the screen redraws, and a redundant "selection cursor" that messes with inversions of the scroll direction.

Tor is specifically designed to withstand attacks from resourceful adversaries who do not respect your fourth amendment rights. The FBI putting it to the test provides us with valuable information both about the FBI and about Tor.

The point was that Bitcoin already is regulated pretty much everywhere. If you have pockets deep enough to exploit any of the remaining loopholes it'd likely be cheaper to just get a regular license.
