I've wondered the same.. I actually subscribed to see what the hype was about; after using it for a few weeks I found it hard to justify the cost for such a simple and relatively featureless webapp

Exactly, you don't want a guy with his kind of intellectual firepower headed to your competitor.

I'm pretty sure this line of thinking led to us having horribly misguided features like ASI (automatic semicolon insertion) in javascript today

Or just use some semblance of static typing and completely eliminate this class of bug.

It's amazing the kind of crap you can produce in the enterprise space and get away with it to the tune of multi hundred million dollar acquisitions.

Pretty sad to see HN become a parody of itself on a near constant basis: half of the comments attacked the article as "link bait" without even addressing the actual content. I've been watching OpenGov closely for the last ye

I think merge sort finally 'clicked' for me after watching that animation. This is an incredible learning tool.

My completely unfounded theory: Clojurescript is starting to get a lot of traction because of David Nolen's Om which has caused a surge of interest based on its excellent performance characteristics and clean and easy to reason about

Why would I use bower over npm with browserify? Seems like a large step back.

React is a library, plain and simple. It has literally no opinions on even basic stuff like routing, or how to manage application data. It takes your data as an input and by some mechanism lays out a visual representation of it defined by
