I love these old jRPGs. I couldn't have told you the plot, but I remember the mechanics of this and FF2 very well. Modern rpgs are truly fantastic, but I don't enjoy them nearly as much.

And just imagine with friendly fire turned on. Even if it was all accidental (no trolls), you can die from any direction at all times.

Adam Savage went on and on about his favorite soldering station in a YouTube video, so if anyone wants a recommendation, search for that.

In the glory days, cast iron pans were milled perfectly smooth on the cooking surface. Lodge casts their pans without surfacing, so you have a porous surface. I have a lodge and it's okay, but I prefer my antique Wagner when I can. It

Thanks. I don't think it should be every dude's dream, though. When we bought the bar, I had never had a drink in my life! I was an active pool player, though, and pool league was important in our growth. The bar scene definitely

That's likely. We had one partner who had worked in bars for a long time, so he had those ideas about good service etc. I brought "all things computer" and a willingness to bust my ass. I also am the most logical and money-co

We thought it made sense given our limited budget, the price the guy was asking, and the ready-to-go equipment and clientele. It was a minimal investment, but I was simultaneously all-in. We had to be profitable to start, and frankly that u

Not sure if it's what you're looking for, but I have a non-tech story: I bought a small B&M business--a bar--in 2010. I had 2 partners, which quickly became just one partner. The existing business was using a small bar area, b

I think I had to wait about 6 months to rent an HTML4 book from the library. It was massive. Maybe 6 inches thick. I devoured it, and later bought my own copy.

I worked in the hot Florida outdoors, with children, for about 7 years through high school and after. Minimum wage. It's the part of my life I'd most want to re-live, though I can't say things have gotten harder or anything.

My first tech job was web dev at a small local shop. I also got out the phone book (and performed extensive google searches) to find all of the local web development companies. I emailed them all, and wound up with two interviews. One was a

He specifically noted that his tuition was paid for. He was paying for supplies & incidentals. Also $400/week in 1982 was fantastic money for an 18 year old. So a normal school-kid could not, in fact, replicate this.

Interestingly, this is exactly the type of behavior I would find distasteful. If I do you the favor of watching your dog, I'm going to be pissed if you're spying on me during the process. I'm sure they knew about it, so I don

I first asked if we could try out WFH for a day or two a week, see how it went. I was upfront that my eventual goal was, if it went well, to move out of country. It did go well, and I did move out of country (only 1 time zone difference)
