I don't think it ever was the _highest_ good. It may be argued that it has moved around the hierarchy, and it may in fact not be at an all time high, but there were always things which we (society) put above liberty.

Yeah but why shy away from the fact that any of us could randomly die at any moment? It may not be pleasant to think about, but it's true. And important to be plan for in critical systems.

Well, browsers are trying to fix this with graphical clues. Right now, all parts of the url apart from ".ycombinator.com" are grey in my url bar.(using Firefox)

although data.gov.pl exists, and even presents a valid cert, it has no content. The place with the data is: https://danepubliczne.gov.pl/en/# (website is being terribly slow for me right now)

Yes, but it's a pretty bad experience - it has no js, so you need to keep refreshing the page. But yeah, I've used it on occasion.

I wonder what other legacy, potentially useful features lurk behind user-agent gates. For example, you can get messages to work on the mobile version of Facebook by switching to a very old user agent. Maybe I should just permanently switch

Well, duplicates are probably more likely to get created when the original question is not easy to find using some particular combination of keywords. So in that sense the duplicate is doing it's job.
