How are you tweaking it? Would love to hear more about it since I am a have osmand user.

I started using osmand a lot more lately while biking and I agree route calculation on the phone (hi Pixel 4a :) ) are super slow but for that reason you can configure alternative (online) routing engines in the settings https://

How would they loose? Right now people looking for a "component" are just using chrome(ium), so Mozilla does not have those "users" to begin with. If Gecko would be as usable for integration as Blink is more people would

Would probably help if you would add an explainer somewhere. I have no idea what the site is or does.

I have no idea what I am talking about but could it be related to future AI related features that process user data locally and/or on their servers? At least that would make some sense to me.

I agree with the sentiment but ladybird is years and years away from being on par with Firefox. Performance, compatibility let alone extensions are far away at this point. Exiting to see the development tho.

I am not aware of an open source client, I am not aware of any clients that are not based on the original client for that matter. Recently the turtle wow (a private server) team announced that they are working on a completely new Unreal Eng

I meant something like this browser does: https://arc.net/ where the urlbar and all the buttons of the navigation bar are in the sidebar as well, so you have more room vertically for the actual web content.

This looks really great. One thing I have never seen done is having the url bar completely removed and put everything in the sidebar. That would really save some vertical space. Since you seem to know your way around the firefox sources, do

Man you got my hopes up for a bit there since I remembered Kiwi browser was chromium based which after checking, it still is. From there website: "Kiwi is based on Chromium and WebKit." https://kiwibrowser.com/

To an extend yes but it's unnecessarily hard to do so. If we were at a point where is was as easy to develop foss OS/Software for mobile devices I wouldn't complain. Sadly the proprietary nature of mobile phones (mostly drive

I don't do it "to stick it" to anyone. I am just not willing to spend 500$+ since my current hardware is perfectly fine and does what I want. Saving money and avoiding unnecessary e-waste is more important to me.

That's definitely a good step but sadly compared to PCs still the stone ages. I want to use my phone with the OS I choose. Sadly the proprietary driver BLOBs make that unnecessarily hard or sometimes impossible.

Still using my pixel 4a. I refuse to discontinue a perfectly good phone just because the manufacturer decides it's not supported anymore. Hopefully the EU does something about planned obsolesce one day.

Personally am asking myself what the benefits of the BSD clause compared to a more restrictive license are. The only reason I personally can see is that they want to have to option to close the browser themself in the future.

I hope this will be a slow transition but I am pretty sure it will since that's how xfce usually works. I switched to xfce not so long ago after almost 15 years of using KDE for that slow pace exactly. I had small problems and annoyan
