They actually have AR overlays already. What you do is lay the catalog down on the floor, and the iPad app uses it as a size reference to generate the overlay. It's a little finicky in practice but still pretty impressive.

This seems to be the code from the "Open Source Graphics Project" Kickstarter that ran last year. They didn't get anywhere near the $200K goal for 2-D, much less the $400K goal for 3-D. Glad to see that it's getting out

That's very helpful, thanks. The company I work for doesn't do any 3D graphics, so I should be able to open-source my implementation (if and when it gets done).

I don't see why you need an i7. I have a passively-cooled Celeron NUC (Zotac CI320) that's fine for web browsing and 'productivity'. It gets hotter than I'd like though.

I don't know what you're expecting (nightlies?) but KiCAD is a slow-moving project. Take a look at the old builds folder to get a rough idea of the interval between releases. And that's not a random French server. KiCAD was o

I guess I'm one of those people who tells my friends that KiCAD is "much better now". Bear in mind that this is a comparison to oh, five years ago, when it would crash roughly as often as OrCAD... EEs are accustomed to buggy

Lattice does offer free licenses for the low end. They're certainly not going to give you a free license for PCIe; I'm pretty sure Xilinx and Altera don't either, that's still a premium feature.

Wow, I had mistakenly assumed that you couldn't do 0.8 mm BGAs on a hobbyist-level PCB. The solder lands are actually within recommendations. The author mentioned that this is a test board without much hooked up. That really helps, sin

Who is this targeted at? As it stands, the documentation requires quite a bit of EE knowledge. If it's meant for novices, you'll probably need to define half the terms mentioned on the first page. The other major issue IMO is inst

The firmware can be built with what we have provided, and will run on the WRT1900AC successfully. It is true that it would lack wireless support, but that would not stop the firmware from actually working. https://lists.openwr

Tubes aren't all that terribly different from transistors; the characteristic curves are slightly different but the circuit topologies are basically the same as those of transistor circuits.
