Well, they might realise their use case it’s better suited to FreeBSD. But probably not better-enough to switch OS. But mainly they might make make more educated comments. Sometimes, and maybe this is more a historic thing, the Linux advoca

> The backstory that seems to have been forgotten here is that self driving cars are still a money bleeding endeavor. They also don’t work. At least not by any sane definition. Sure, if you’ve mapped the area in advance, nothing changed,

Some examples please. I’ve yet to find any actual utility, mostly I’ve got a lot of convincing bullshit out of it.

Low taxes get more votes than good schools. Why that is the case I have no idea.

I dunno about the ST but my Amiga 1200 very much has an FPU and and IP network. I would be very surprised if that wasn’t something that you could add to an ST as well.

LLMs are not the most important breakthrough in AI ever, in the same way the NFTs are not the most important breakthrough in digital commerce ever. It's just a load of hype to generate big funding rounds. At least there's no carto

NT4 had the same UX as 95 didn’t it? It was certainly way more reliable.

Truth is a defence here, but you have to prove that what you said is true, not the other way around. If you made up 100 negative reviews that’s going to be tricky.

Sure, you could give 100 people the competitors product, have them use it and then review it and just publish the negative ones. Maybe that’s also useful market research. I don’t think that’s what most people buying reviews online do.

Yeah, if the incentives are to publish convincing papers with less emphasis on quality or, you know, good research then this is going to happen and it’s going to happen a lot. The article you link doesn’t say if the papers are any good. It

It almost certainly (in the UK at least) would carry a high risk of a defamation claim for the people writing (or generating) them.

They should, but the greed of the AI companies and their lack of respect for other peoples property means there’s pretty much zero chance of that.

Yep. No service, no tip. If you never interact with a person throughout the process of buying there is no reason to.

Sure, in production. I don’t think that’s generally true though. It’s pretty common for developers to run an http server for test purposes. But anyway, that was just an example. I could have said cups.

Mainly because I doubt it’ll be a couple of weeks. Saving the hard problems to the end is not how you do software engineering and this reeks of people who don’t know what they are doing. Also, I kinda want this to fail. Mastodon is the righ

I suspect if you look in your passwd file you’ll find lots of users. Does nginx really need to read the files in your home directory?

This is just silly. Why would anyone pay for this? And why would they need to do it. Anyone who drives like that is already paying them more in servicing, brakes, tyres etc.

I still don’t understand why VSCode is so popular. I don’t like it very much. I’ll stick with IntellliJ for Java / Scala and Neovim for everything else.
