Your point is some of the volunteers are clueless and sexist? This article states the 15 min wait is about anaphylaxis, not fainting.

Probably best to patch it anyway, some customer with a report from a dumbass jar scanning tool will moan continuously if you don’t whether you’re vulnerable or not.

No, we’re not gonna buy your shitty SAAS just to parse some .pom files. If we’re feeling particularly lazy we might even just do mvn dependency:tree

Yeah, and it’s a dumb guideline. If there’s no feedback we will never improve. Slashdot used to have meta moderation for this very reason.

Downvotes (and flags) are getting ridiculous on this site. I’ve recently been downvoted for (among other things) criticising Tesla, speaking up for women, being a dick. Only one of those was justified. This will also get downvoted.

Indeed on a code review that kind of comment is bad. We have sonarcube for that kind of nonsense. The reviewer should explain why, and ideally show how it could be done better.

Maybe, an app I inherited used this as it’s interaction with the database. The main issue was that because it wasn’t really sophisticated enough to do the queries they wanted so they wrote a bunch of stored procedures (in JavaScript?!) and

That worked super well with DVD CSS right? Let’s face it, people are going to print adversarial images on t-shirts.

It’s an electric car, it doesn’t seem unreasonable to have an electronic security system tied to locks, alarm and immobiliser. If there’s no power you’re not going anywhere anyway.

Not the previous poster but the WiFi range on the Omnia is pretty poor so I’d imagine that’s the reason. Works fine in a small apartment like mine but I think you would need something else in a house.

Satisfied Omnia customer here. It’s a decent router with enough performance to host a small website and Logitech media server in lxc containers as well.

As someone who knows nothing about baseball, this sounds interesting but I think it could do with more explanation. Are they used for communicating with the batter?

That’s a terrible analogy. An F1 car isn’t flexible, it’s highly specialised. And there are roughly 20 F1 drivers on the planet at a given time, are you suggesting the total audience for emacs is about 20?

It’s a racket essentially, they make up a certification sell it to people buying software. Those buyers force it on their suppliers and they can charge for auditing and compliance. Not much you can do though, just have to grit your teeth a

Surprised it took so long. As a big player in the EV market, the expansion of that market generally benefits them and this will help that.

I disagree. Quality is hard to measure in journalism and it’s definitely not as simple as free = bad, paid = good (or the reverse). I don’t consider asking for money for writing to be a big negative, folks gotta earn a living somehow.

Preferably fusion, but that’s still proving super hard. But yes, any form would help a lot. If you’re suggesting hydro, wind and solar are not clean energy though I think you need to expand on that.

I think post meltdown / spectre the idea of a trade off between security and performance has gained more traction. Perhaps it’s not such a problem.
