Retribution is one of justifications for punishment: retribution; incapacitation; deterrence; rehabilitation and reparation. Retribution is part of the justice.

Yes. That's the beauty of jury trials. Both side (defense and prosecutor) has to agree who will determine guilty/non-guilty. If it was judge, he is beholden to power structures and pressure. Johnny Depp and Rittenhouse also got a

I think the reason why first two examples can say that they are safe is that in case of failure, people die. And thus there was a regulation introduced. People generally care when they can die. In case of software, rather rarely people die

Jailbreaking is not the problem. The problem is reverse engineering a large firmware that operates on HW they have no docs for and fixing the firmware (ie. doing it better that original manufacturer that has access to everything). The job o

That's not the point. I am not opposed to issues per se. The problem is dealing with the amount, it's exhausting. It's just too easy to make issue or comment on GitHub because of network effect. This sums it up pretty well:

I am considering moving away because of network effect. The more popular repo is, the more work is there (issues, PRs...). It's not scalable. Using another platform/self-host would introduce a friction.

Their defense and space contracts are not going well. KC-46 tanker replacement was a fixed-price contract and Boeing lost $7 billion on that. Starliner is a similar story, $1.5 billion down the hole. EDIT: T-7A Red Hawk trainer: $1 billion
