I think the complications getting transit home is a major cause of point two there. Co-workers that have to catch trains out to commuter towns always needed to be mindful of the time, and may have needed to drive the final part of their jou

A friend of mine actually lived in a place like this in Japan for a while - shoebox room, and then generous communal areas for cooking / living. It sounded like a great idea to me, and when I moved to London I tried to find somewhere s

I'm a big fan of teamcity - might be because it's the first CI system I used professionally, but compared to Jenkins it just works (batteries included) and compared to circleci I find the configuration much less repeatitive and UI

I would've expected a shared design library that had all the standard widgets, and then each page / area of the UI to be implemented and managed by the individual teams. The dependency version drift could be solved by forcing ever

On the whole GitHub's UI is good, though I still find it unreasonably difficult/slow to do a review commit by commit compared to kiln. I'd really like it if they added a way to thumb between commits in one click without page

Not from stripe, but I've seen pretty bad CPU throttling. Often see quota's get exhausted through short bursts that don't show up in metrics that then causes CFS throttling to occur even though it looks like the pod is no whe

This is great for preserving all the old content. It'd be cool to see a follow up project for an ide to author new stuff - as a kid the timeline system made producing 2d games accessible in a way that I haven't seen with JavaScrip

I think their point is regardless of whether it's Apple, Google, Microsoft, etc the end user has increasingly little control over their devices. The only way to fix this in the long run is open platforms

I setup Debian on an old desktop for my mum a few years back, and she was able to use it happily with no issues or support from me - for the average person that just wants a web browser and some word processing it works great! When it comes

This is pretty much how chrome's safe browsing feature works for screening URLs without leaking the full details. There is no valid reason that the full information needs to be sent to the server to implement this kind of protection IM

Most Bluetooth devices work fine for me with Fedora, but I still haven't been able to get my Bose quietcontrol headphones to work correctly - they pair but then start playing random noises and telling me there's an incoming call.

Agree - been using 4k monitors with Fedora for years as well, and whilst there's still a few warts it's been steadily getting better and is perfectly usable. Looking forward to seeing Gimp with native support though

I understand the desire to work with people face to face, but regarding the lack of downtime on your commute: have you considered simply reading at home, or going to a coffee shop for an hour before/after work? I've found replacin
