I don't know.. when starting out or prototyping a new feature I find ORMS useful for moving fast, and the performance good enough. You can always slowly migrate to pure sql for critical parts of the system.

I much prefer having an vs sql project side by side with the ef models. Keep the schema up to date in there. It can generate migration scripts by comparing the dB you want to target. Then just generate ef models from the dB.

Nowadays I do all my diagrams in Figma. Its a ui tool first but its so flexible it just works for any use case. And it has a strong component functionality so once you build a library of "blocks" for you use cases it's trivia

1. Depends on the laptop really. Some have better cooling than others. I'm training models for a few hours every day with an asus rog that has a 1060, and I'm not experiencing any throttling.

We had a similar experience in our office. We chose Vue.js and we are all very pleased with the results. Vue is simple enough to understand and be productive in in a reasonable amount of time.

Agreed, a GUI have most of the functionality and a clear visual representation of the state of your repo. When it's not enough the terminal is once click away
