Hey HN, it’s been about three years since you sent my open source CMS, Primo, to the front page ( https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=23820201 ), inspiring me to quit my cushy remote job at the height of the pandemic to work

This is really cool and how probably most people would prefer to message, hope you keep at it. But I’m worried about connecting my private messages to any service, let alone one this young. Would be nice to see something on the landing page

A lot of people know basic HTML/CSS and the next generation is learning it in their computer classes, but there aren’t many tools that let them leverage it to build actual websites. If there were, people wouldn’t be so forced into prop

I would wait on the email before being sure, but if you applied by the deadline then you should have gotten one by now.

primo ( https://primo.so ) has a lot of what you’re looking for, but it’s coder-friendly instead of designer-friendly like Webflow. Also free and open source.

If you want to get up and running quickly, you can’t do better than https://primo.so It’s let’s you write auto-converting markdown, outputs slim static html and lets you customize with basic HTML/CSS in the browser. It’s mo

I think you’ve misunderstood Svelte’s bundle size. Its bundle size is technically zero since it’s a compiler. React can’t get any smaller because of the approach, not because they don’t want to. That’s why it doesn’t include so much out of

That sounds amazing, best of luck. I’ve always wondered why “a billion search results” is considered valuable when nobody looks past the first page of google.

This is so cool. I feel like it has a ton of use cases but needs some time for people to start trying it out. Do you have any examples of how people are using it in the wild?

That looks like a massive productivity gain. Are there any other tools that build tests like that? Makes me feel like a caveman for writing them by hand.

Good morning HN. Building small custom websites is too complicated. Primo is a new approach that puts everything you need to build and manage your sites in the same place. I appreciated the interest when I posted the beta a few months ago,

You globally replace it by putting it in a component. And even if you use ‘@apply’ everywhere, you still get the benefit of design system consistency and faster styling.

Even so, that doesn’t mean everyone else should shoulder the burden of larger css bundles and slower updates. Version 1.9 is still great.

In which cases do margin and padding not make sense as utility styles? I’ve only needed custom values a handful of times, but I’m not using it on a complex app

Yeah. I quit my job to work on it full-time and now I’m in North Africa living off my savings and an Airbnb’d bedroom. The quality of life is good and it at least tripled my runway.
